X-Bow Systems, a solid rocket motor and defense technologies company, recently announced the grand opening of its new office in Indian Head, Maryland, reinforcing its commitment to supporting national defense priorities and strengthening its partnership with the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Indian Head Division (NSWC IHD), the Navy's premier facility for energetics and munitions.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony held on February 27, 2025, marked the official opening of the new office. X-Bow CEO Jason Hundley welcomed guests, followed by remarks from distinguished speakers representing the Department of Defense (DoD), the Charles County Military Alliance Council, local government, and private industry.
Concurrent with the office opening, X-Bow announced a new $7 million contract with NSWC IHD. The contract will focus on implementing cutting-edge technology to further modernize the Indian Head facility, enhancing efficiency, speed, and cost-effectiveness, in alignment with the DoD's focus on streamlining operations and maximizing productivity.
The award builds upon X-Bow's existing partnership with NSWC IHD. In 2024, as part of the U.S. Navy's $2.7 billion 15-year modernization plan for NSWC IHD, a key component of the DoD's national defense strategy, X-Bow received a $60 million award to begin modernizing and automating key facilities and capabilities to rapidly scale SRM production.
