The TPSMC, TPSMD and TP5.0SMDJ series from Littelfuse for automotive high-voltage power electronics.
Littelfuse, Inc.
Littelfuse, Inc. (Rosemont, IL) introduced the TPSMC, TPSMD and TP5.0SMDJ series for automotive high-voltage power electronics. The series is designed for single-device transient protection in electrified vehicle architectures and can be used in battery disconnect units (BDUs), high-voltage HVAC systems and positive temperature coefficient (PTC) heaters.
The TPSMC, TPSMD and TP5.0SMDJ series provides high-voltage transient voltage suppression (TVS) for GaN/SiC MOSFETs and IGBTs using the AEC-Q101 automotive reliability standard.
Features:
- Standoff voltages of up to 400 V, enabling single-device protection in high-voltage circuits and eliminating need for multiple devices in series
- Supports peak pulse power up to 5 kW and peak surge current up to 300 A
- Response time typically less than 1 ps
- Provides precise clamping
- Allows engineers to select lower-rated power semiconductors to reduce conduction losses and improve overall vehicle efficiency
- Housed in a DO-214AB (SMC) surface-mount package, series minimizes PCB footprint, reduces component count and lowers total Bill of Materials (BOM) costs.
