HASTINGS, Neb. (AP) -- Officials with JM Eagle have announced it's cutting 50 positions at its Hastings plant.

The Livingston, N.J.-based company said it will be cutting production at the plant this summer. The job cuts go into effect July 12 and will likely be permanent.

Officials said the affected employees will be offered severance packages and possibly jobs at its other facilities.

JM Eagle is the world's largest manufacturer of plastic pipe.
